1750 errichtet als Linzer Poststallmeisterei, wurde das im Hafenviertel gelegene, historische Areal 1984 behutsam als Kulturhaus revitalisiert und 1990 um einen modernen Zubau erweitert. Posthof - Zeitkultur am Hafen präsentiert heute auf 3 Indoor-Bühnen jährlich bis zu 250 Einzelveranstaltungen aus Musik, Tanz, Theater, Kleinkunst und Literatur mit in Summe knapp 100.000 Besucher:innen und ist damit einer der größten und vitalsten Veranstaltungsorte für zeitgenössische Kultur in Österreich.

Positioniert als "Nahversorger" für nationale und internationale Größen gleichermaßen wie Förderer der regionalen Nachwuchsszene bündelt die künstlerische Leitung das Jahresprogramm vielfach zu Schwerpunktthemen wie "Heimspiel" (junge, österreichische Künstler*innen), "TanzTage" (Tanz, Performance), "Linzer Kleinkunstfestival" (Kabarett, Comedy), dem Musikcontest "Lautstark!" (Bandwettbewerb) oder auch dem "FrischLuft"-Sommerprogramm im Außengelände.

Das Raumangebot umfasst zwei vollwertige, unabhängig bespielbare Gebäudeeinheiten mit drei Veranstaltungssälen für bis zu 1200 Personen, die flexibel auf individuelle Anforderungen adaptiert werden können. Jüngster Zugang ist die an der nordöstlichen (Rück-)Seite des Hauptgebäudes positionierte Open-Air-Bühne für bis zu 2000 Steh- oder 900 Sitzplätze. Das Bar-Café-Restaurant "Posthof-Beisl" (mit angeschlossenem, wunderschönem Gastgarten) rundet das kulturelle Gesamterlebnis ab.

Built in 1750 to serve for the local post office bureau, the historic area in the harbour district was carefully revitalised as a cultural centre in 1984 and enlarged by a modern extension in 1990. Posthof - Zeitkultur am Hafen today presents up to 250 individual events from music, dance, theatre, cabaret and literature on 3 indoor stages each year attracting a total of 100,000 visitors, making it one of the largest and most pivotal venues for contemporary culture in Austria.

Positioned as a "local supplier" for national and international stars as well as a promoter of the regional young talent scene, the artistic management often bundles the annual program around key themes such as "Heimspiel" (young Austrian artists), "TanzTage" (dance, performance), "Linzer Kleinkunstfestival" (cabaret, comedy), the music contest "Lautstark!" (band competition) or the "FrischLuft" summer program in the outdoor area.

The space on offer comprises two fully-fledged, independent building units with three event halls for up to 1,200 people, which can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. The latest addition is the open-air stage positioned on the north-eastern (rear) side of the main building for up to 2000 standing or 900 seated guests. The bar-café-restaurant "Posthof-Beisl" (with adjoining, beautiful garden) rounds off the overall cultural experience.
